We are pleased to hear DJI have released the awesome FC40 as a standalone camera. Originally released with the DJI Phantom FC40 to provide good quality videos and stills at an entry level price (under £55). After testing the FC40 camera I was pleasantly surprised at its low latency wi-fi connection, image quality and weight (only 36 grams). Unlike the GoPro camera's extremely sub-standard wi-fi function, the FC40 has very little lag and works well at providing FPV to your flight. On top of this the 720p video is more than adequete for an entry level solution, as you can see in the video below. As a standalone, we can see this camera not just being used for quadcopters but also remote control cars, planes and other uses would be suitable. This camera uses 2.4Ghz, so is not suitable for the Phantom 1's standard radio system as this is also on 2.4Ghz.
